EMDR Therapy for Women in California

You may understand where your anxiety, burnout, people-pleasing, or self-doubt comes from, yet still find yourself reacting in ways you'd like to change.

That's because healing isn't always about trying harder or thinking differently. Sometimes, your mind and body need help processing experiences that continue to influence your thoughts, emotions, and relationships.

Moving From Coping to Lasting Change

As an EMDR Certified Therapist, I offer virtual EMDR therapy for adult women throughout California. EMDR is one of several evidence-based approaches I may incorporate when it aligns with your goals and clinical needs.

What Is EMDR Therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a research-supported therapy approach designed to help the brain process difficult or distressing experiences that may continue to affect your daily life.

Rather than asking you to relive painful memories in detail, EMDR helps your brain reprocess those experiences so they become less emotionally overwhelming. Over time, many people notice a reduction in emotional distress while gaining a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and resilience.

How Trauma Can Show Up in Everyday Life

Trauma doesn't always come from one major event. It can also develop through ongoing stress, childhood experiences, difficult relationships, emotional neglect, or environments where you learned to put everyone else's needs before your own.

You may notice trauma affecting your life through:

Anxiety or constant worry

Burnout and emotional exhaustion

Perfectionism

Putting your own needs last

Negative self-beliefs

Difficulty setting boundaries

Relationship challenges

Feeling "stuck" despite your best efforts

How EMDR Can Help

EMDR may help reduce the emotional impact of difficult experiences while supporting healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and responding.

Many women seek EMDR therapy to work through trauma, anxiety, and the lasting impact of childhood or family-of-origin experiences, as well as burnout, perfectionism, negative self-beliefs, relationship patterns, and major life transitions that continue to affect how they feel and show up in their daily lives.

Every therapy experience is different, and together we'll determine whether EMDR is an appropriate part of your treatment plan.

What To Expect

EMDR is always completed at a pace that feels safe and supportive.

We'll begin by getting to know your story, identifying your goals, and building coping skills before beginning any trauma processing. If EMDR is appropriate for your needs, I'll guide you through each step while ensuring you feel supported throughout the process.

You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We'll move forward together, one step at a time.

EMDR may be a good fit if you're feeling stuck in patterns that continue to affect your daily life, despite your best efforts to move forward.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, unresolved trauma, burnout, or long-standing negative beliefs about yourself, EMDR may offer a path toward lasting healing.

During your consultation, we'll discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and determine whether EMDR is the right approach for your goals.
